Extending Hinge box (TCK 40)

-

[Image ID] A red and berry coloured, extending hinge box. The box is made of 3 boxes and has a lid. When the lid is removed the two upper boxes can be pulled down to sit on either side of the lower one. The lid has a repeating, white key design on a berry coloured background. The sides to the lid feature a punched butterflies design. The bottom box is square and has floral side panels. The other two boxes are cuboids without tops and are joined to the bottom box by brown card and paper fastener hinges. A floral trellis design decorates the long sides of each of the top boxes. [description end]

This box was inspired by this youtube tutorial posted by BBz Kraftz. I followed the idea more than the tutorial itself as I used dies from Tonic Craft Kit 40 to create the two upper boxes and therefore had to adjust the measurements of everything else.

The base of the box is cut from 300gsm white card which I then ink blended.

The 'arms' with the paper fasteners are made with three layers of 300gsm kraft card glued together.
