Silhouette Scene Bookmarks

All three bookmarks

I thought the shape of the panels from Tonic Studios silhouette dies was perfect for making bookmarks, and these are my first projects with the dies.

They are stylistically similar to some of my favourite sets such as the 'Enchanted Forest' and 'Wondrous Woods' tag dies - I hope to find a project where I can use them and the new silhouette ones together.

middle bookmark

[Image ID] Close up of the middle bookmark. It has a purple, starry, moonlit sky with the moon partially hidden by foliage. A conifer is in the middle ground on the left creating a path between itself and a tree on the right. This path has 3 silhouetted rabbits on it and the path naturally leads the eye through the scene. [description end]

This was the first bookmark I made, all three layers (front panel, middle panel, and plain back piece) were cut from white card. I then used ink-blending techniques to create the colour.

[Image ID] Close up of the right-hand bookmark. This one has foliage across the top with a starlit sky fading through a mixture of pink, purple and orange. A silhouetted fox is on top of a mound and there is a tree either side in the foreground. [description end]

The panel construction was a little different this time, as only the front and back panels were cut from white card. The middle panel (with the fox) is kraft card, whilst the starry panel is cut from a thin paper.

One constant across the trio was adding stickles or glitter kiss onto the backing panel behind the stars and moon, I also covered the moons with Glossy Accents.

[Image ID] Close up of the left-hand bookmark. The bookmark has a tree trunk down the right side, and foliage at the top with a pinkish sky and yellow stars visible through the branches and leaves. A fox is stood near the top of a green grassy mound and flowers fill the foreground. [description end]

The front two, and backing, panels are white card. But like with bookmark 2, I used thinner paper for the starry layer. Once they were dry, I set a 3/16" eyelet into the top of each bookmark and tied some brown garden twine through the holes.
