Emerald Bouquet Card
[Image ID] An Emerald anniversary card. A bouquet of flowers on a black background with the number 55 beneath the bouquet [description end]
This was a simple, but fun, card to put together. I started by cutting the black background to slightly smaller than the A6 card base and then gluing the back of the bouquet ‘wrap’ onto it. The wrap is made using two layers of tracing paper stacked on top of each other to make it appear less transparent. I chose to cut the wrap die using tracing paper as it was a middle ground between ordinary paper which seemed too stiff and tissue paper which would have been too flimsy.
[Image ID] The card is tilted so the shiny parts of the card can be seen more clearly. [description end]
All of the green foliage was cut from some white card which I had ink blended with green. The flowers, on the other hand, were coloured after I cut them out so I could be sure the gradient effect on the petals would match the shape and size of the flower. The centres of the flowers, as well as the other green dots, were creating using nuvo drops.

Once all the foliage pieces had been glued onto the back of the ‘wrap’ I folded the wrap’s sides over and glued them on top to hide the ends of the foliage. It was only after I glued the wrap sides down that I drew the subtle gold line around the edges of the wrap. The ‘55’ was cut from some green mirror card which matched both the bouquet and the occasion. The final step in the process of this card was to colour the part of the A6 card base which would remain visible using a gold paint pen. I find this is a good way to add a coloured border without adding extra weight to the card, or ‘wasting’ sparkly/shiny card for such a tiny border when it would be better used elsewhere.
