Inktober 2024: 16 - Grungy

Despite many of the industrial things I enjoy painting lending themselves to being ‘grungy’, I actually found this quite a difficult prompt to choose an idea for as there were so many options and ways I could interpret it. In the end I broke away from my usual pattern of watercolour paintings, and went for doing a gel plate print using acrylic paint.

The idea of this piece is of an ancient mural featuring a bat in a starry night sky, but over time the blue from the background has chipped away to reveal the brown stone behind.
