Inktober 2024: 31 - Landmark
[Image ID] A watercolour painting of a prehistoric chambered tomb. [description end]
‘Landmark’
This painting is based on ‘Trefignath’ Neolithic burial chamber on Anglesey as I liked the distinctive shape of this particular chambered tomb.
This link is to the Wikipedia article about it which has some photos showing the shape of the stones which inspired this painting.
I thought this fitted the prompt as the huge stones and grass mounds of these burial chambers would have been major landmarks in prehistoric times and, in some cases, remain as notable landmarks today.
