Wolf on the Bridge
Having not done much painting for a while, I had an urge to have another go at making a scene using Lavinia Stamps – despite their order of posting this was actually done before the Winter Lavinia Scene I shared earlier in the year.
I started this piece with the idea of a wolf on the bridge with a castle in the background, then I got inspired for the colours of the sky by a painting by Inkybliss Creations/Lisa Taggart (her YouTube video for the piece can be found here) and after that the piece slowly came together.
My process for these Lavinia paintings is very ‘organic’ like that as I tend to put down one stamp and slowly add different elements without having as clear of a mental image beforehand as I often do for pure paintings.
It’s often quite hard for me to name the supplies I used to create pieces like this as I embrace the idea of mixed media and use a wide variety of supplies to achieve the finished effects.
The sky was definitely painted in watercolour, as were the base grey tones of the bridge. I also used some gouache at the end to enhance the orange and yellow of the sky being reflected in the stones of the bridge. Various details were drawn in with fineliners to help the edges of the stamped images blend into a united painting.

As you can see in the photo, I also used some coloured glitter pens and clear Stickles (glitter glue) to further highlight a few places I thought would really catch the light of the sunset sky.
